"Besondere Begegnungen" is a documentary movie about a music project with handicapped young people coordinated by the Musicus e.V. in Süsel/Schleswig-Holstein. The project was financed by the "Aktion Mensch" and coordinated by Nils-Holger Schomann, an experienced film maker. Cutting was realized with the help of Angelika Strelczyk, an experienced cutter for many german TV series (e.g. Tatort).
Two ISNM students have performed numerous interviews and film shots during several months in 2005/2006 with the musicians, their friends, supervisors and family members. The result was an impressive documentation of the creative potential of handicapped people for using music as an expressive media channel. The film contains also some scenes from live performances on stage.
