Bio Parallel to my studies I worked as assistant for a managing director in the public energy industry sector for a couple of years. My fields of interest were Change Management and Business Reengineering; I was busy optimizing work processes with the help of IT. The enhancement of work places and duty statements as well as a rather rudimentarily implementation of a shared knowledge system and a long life learning program was the starting point for my later field of research. In addition I did some freelance work with the design and implementation of a CI in print and web. It seems a logical consequence of this earlier work that I developed an interest in collaborative tools and technologies. I am particularly interested in how such tools can be aligned with appropriate didactics to widen people?s horizons and experiences in learning and working together. My current professional interests are driven by a personal curiosity in processes of communication, interactivity and understanding.
Focus Currently I'm working as an instructional designer at the University of Applied Sciences, Lübeck, Germany (FHL). We conceptualize, design, create and implement online courses in various fields for institutions of higher education, at bachelor and masters level. Here at FHL, I promote the idea of interactivity and collaboration, bridging the technology, pedagogy and institutional context, as well as working on strategies to assure quality in the instructional and content related area.
