Bio Malte Ziewitz is currently a DPhil student at the Oxford Internet Institute. His research focuses on the changing role of law and regulation in communication networks and alternative ways to achieve public policy goals, especially in the European context. Topics include the impact of networked information technology on individual decision-making, the role of gatekeepers and bottlenecks in digital media, and the interplay of law and social sciences. He is still affiliated with his former homestead, the Hans Bredow Institute for Media Research, where he worked as a Junior Researcher on a number of projects. He is also a non-resident fellow at the Research Center for Information Law at the University of St. Gallen. Before discovering the comfortable life of an academic, he worked as a radio reporter and copywriter.
