Mobile HolstenTour is an interactive ubiquitous solution for the Holstentor museum in Lübeck. The idea behind Mobile HolstenTour is providing personalized context-aware mobile tours to museum visitors.
Before the tour touchscreen interface allows the visitors to explore connections between places in the city of Lübeck and the Holstentor through short video clips. Objects related to interesting video clips can be collected into a personalized tour.
Mobile phones are used during the tour for presenting further audiovisual information based on visitor location. Mobile phones are also used to guide visitors through the Holstentor.
Mobile HolstenTour is based on ubiquitous infrastructure for contextualized exhibition services provided by Bashar Al Takrouri. The demo version of Mobile HolstenTour has no multi-user capabilities.
