This study explores the basic elements of believability in computer generated facial expressions. As anthropomorphism is a violation of reality but conducted out of the reality, this study is adressing the following questions: How do anthropomorphic characters elicit their emotional facial expressions? How does this influence the users? What makes the user accept the anthropomorphized characters? Results of empirical analysis indicate that colour and texture of animations have a strong influence on the emotional response of the user.
